Reading my tea leaves...

I made herbal tea for the first time and the flavor was earthy, and refreshing. It's surprising how simple it actually is. Just collect the herbs, heat some water, and let tea steep for about 10 minutes.

A couple important things to remember:
  • If you are using fresh herbs you will need about twice as much as you do if your using dry herbs
  • The water should be hot but not boiling. Boiling water disperses important oils in the steam.
Great tea herbs:
  • Chamomile- Indigestion, insomnia, stress, and anxiety.
  • yarrow- Fever, digestion, asthma.
  • Catnip- Colds, fever, congestion.
  • Mint- Nausea, migraines, indigestion, fever, gas.
  • Rosemary- Colds, flu, indigestion, fatigue, headache.
  • Lavender- Relaxation, tension, headache, indigestion.
It is incredible to me that plants have so many important, therapeutic properties. Herbs are so easy to grow, and provide us with a affordable, natural alternative to caring for our bodies. I hope your tea is tasty and leaves your body feeling revitalized!
